About the Speaker:

Melany Garcia is a 3rd year PhD candidate, with a B.S. in Health Science from California State University, Long Beach. Garcia moved to Buffalo in 2018 to pursue her career goals of working in cancer research. When she discovered Roswell Park, Garcia knew that this program would help her gain valuable hands on experience to prepare her for the future. Witnessing the varying effects and outcomes cancer had on her family inspired Garcia to study cancer epidemiology and prevention as her focus. She is looking forward to growing and learning as a student scientist in the years to come.
